Mumbai a city that never stops whatever be the situation. But one thing that always succeeded to slow down the pace of India's most populous city is second to none rain. A city that always shines bright formerly known as Bombay (until 1995) gets a little bit faded in front of rain. The host of nearly 13 million peeps Mumbai is the capital city of Maharashtra state. Mumbai is one of the financial hubs of India.

Spread over 240 square miles the only major issue this city always faces during the rainy season is water logging & it happens due to its location at Maharashtra's coast. The economic hub of India, Mumbai is one of the most advanced cities of the country it is a blend of natural beauty and sky scrappers, home of Bollywood ( Hindi Film  Industry) and many historical monuments. The major reason of waterlogging in Mumbai during Monsoon is its location and many low lying areas. Besides, Mumbai Locals are the busiest railways in the world and carry near about 2.2 billion passengers every year. When the city was under Portuguese, (as it looks like a natural bay) they named it "Bom Bhaia" which means ‘good bay’ in Portuguese. Later, it was given to the British as a dowry when a Portuguese princess married to an English prince & they renamed the city, Bombay. And that’s how the city got its preceding name. The city is home to the World's most expensive home as well as the world's largest slum. Mumbai has a coastline of about 150 KM. In a nutshell, the city is full of life and that's why it is also called as "The city of dreams". 

मुंबई एक ऐसा शहर है जो कभी रुकता नहीं है - स्थिति कैसी भी हो। लेकिन भारत के सबसे अधिक आबादी वाले शहर की गति को धीमा करने में हमेशा सफल रहने वाली एक चीज बारिश नहीं है। एक ऐसा शहर जो हमेशा चमकदार दिखाई देता है, जिसे पहले बॉम्बे (1995 तक) कहा जाता था, बारिश के सामने थोड़ा फीका पड़ जाता है। लगभग 13 मिलियन झांकियों का मेजबान महाराष्ट्र राज्य की राजधानी है। मुंबई भारत के वित्तीय केंद्रों में से एक है। 240 वर्ग मील में फैले इस शहर का एकमात्र प्रमुख मुद्दा बरसात के मौसम के दौरान हमेशा पानी का जमाव है और यह महाराष्ट्र के तट पर स्थित होने के कारण होता है। भारत का आर्थिक केंद्र, मुंबई देश के सबसे उन्नत शहरों में से एक है, यह प्राकृतिक सौंदर्य और आकाश के टुकड़े, बॉलीवुड (हिंदी फिल्म उद्योग) का घर और कई ऐतिहासिक स्मारकों का मिश्रण है। मानसून के दौरान मुंबई में जलभराव का प्रमुख कारण इसका स्थान और कई निचले इलाके हैं। इसके अलावा, मुंबई लोकल दुनिया की सबसे व्यस्त रेलवे है और हर साल लगभग 2.2 बिलियन यात्रियों को ले जाती है। जब शहर पुर्तगाली के अधीन था, (जैसा कि यह एक प्राकृतिक खाड़ी की तरह दिखता है) उन्होंने इसे "बम भाया" नाम दिया जिसका अर्थ पुर्तगाली में 'अच्छा खाड़ी' है। बाद में, यह एक दहेज के रूप में अंग्रेजों को दिया गया जब एक पुर्तगाली राजकुमारी ने एक अंग्रेजी राजकुमार से शादी की और उन्होंने शहर का नाम बदलकर बॉम्बे रख दिया। शहर में दुनिया का सबसे महंगा घर है। और दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा स्लम क्षेत्र भी पाया जाता है। मुंबई में समुद्र तट लगभग 150 KM है। संक्षेप में, शहर जीवन से भरा है और इसलिए इसे "सपनों का शहर" भी कहा जाता है।
